Coas mans na terra
O escultor Francisco Asorey (Cambados, Pontevedra, 1889- Santiago de Compostela, 1961) foi o artista homenaxeado no Día das Artes Galegas 2024. A súa formación transcorre en Barcelona e en Bilbao onde realiza os seus estudos e primeiras obras, nas cales se perceben as influencias de Rodin e Bourdelle. O seu regreso a Galicia permitiralle afondar no seu gusto polo románico compostelán, deixando na súa obra unha pegada permanente. Escultor realista, os seus mellores logros son unha serie de tallas policromadas centradas na muller, realizadas entre 1920 e 1926, como «Naiciña», «O Tesouro» ou «Ofrenda a San Ramón».
Os cativos e as cativas do noso centro, en sintonía co proxecto “Flora e Fauna” promovido pola Biblioteca municipal e as bibliotecas escolares dos centros boirenses, quixemos emular as figuras das mulleres aldeás representadas por Asorey, vestidas con traxes de festa, coas súas xoias e panos, mediante a modelaxe e decoración de coloridos testos que engalanan esta primavera algúns dos nosos espazos exteriores e corredores lembrándonos a importancia da natureza e o contacto coa terra.
